The bright yellow moving van

Project Reflect 2When you are a nonprofit school serving extreme at-risk children, sometimes you don’t have the most sophisticated of moving equipment. That’s okay. Come on down, Project Reflect, and bring your school bus. We have chairs for you. Nice chairs.

No matter that the emergency door at the back of the bus is barely wide enough for the driver to get through. No matter that there are, well, lots of seats on the bus that made it hard to fit in the seats Project Reflect was picking up. As Tim Gunn says on Project Runway, “Make it work!”

The chairs, by the way, were for Project Reflect’s boardroom. It seems the chairs they had been using were dangerously close to causing some kind of medical intervention through structural failure.

And the new ones matched. That was a bonus.

About CRC Nashville

Who are we? We are literally two chicks - Catherine Mayhew and Betsy Everett, and a warehouse - the Community Resource Center (CRC). In short, CRC is a non-profit organization that provides household goods, furniture, and appliances to people in desperate need. Think of us as Robin Hoods – without the stealing. Catherine is a former journalist and Betsy is a marketing chick. We are both devoted to acquiring stuff – good stuff, no junk – because that’s what our most fragile citizens deserve. If you have metal desks, televisions that don’t work or underwear you don’t want anymore, don’t give it to us. We’ll sneer at you. If you are companies that have excess primo stuff like furniture in good condition, school supplies, personal hygiene items or pretty much anything else, we’ll be your new best friends.
